04/27/2021

CONGRATULATIONS…to our scholarship recipients!

At last week’s NWR Builders Exchange Board of Directors meeting, scholarship recipients were chosen for the six $500 scholarships we will be awarding in January of 2022.

The only criterion for applying was that the student must be the son or daughter or an employee of a NWRBX member.  Also, any student, whether they are graduating from high school or currently attending a post high school, may apply.  The student is required to attend a post high school in the fall semester and to successfully complete that semester.  The scholarships will be awarded at our 2022 annual meeting after they have successfully fulfilled that semester.

All cities, names and company names were removed from the applications

for the board of directors’ reviewing.

The following are the board of directors’ selections:

Maddie Palubicki, Jessica Kupka, Abbey Fedie,

Allison Golat-Hattamer, Bailey Thompson, and Mia Bakke

Madeline Palubicki, daughter of Jim Palubicki of Hawk Electric.  Maddie graduated from Mondovi High School in 2018.  She currently in her 3rd year at UW Eau Claire.  Next Maddie will receive a BS in Geology with an emphasis in Hydrogeology and Water Chemistry.  She plans to continue her education by earning her Master’s and PhD in the hopes of eventually becoming a hydrogeology professor at an undergraduate university.

Jessica Kupka, daughter of Mike Kupka of Independence Ready Mix.  Jessica will graduate from Arcadia High in May.  She plans to attend Viterbo University in the fall to pursue a Degree in Nursing in the hopes of someday becoming either an ICU nurse or a traveling nurse with an ultimate goal of returning to school to gain her Nurse Practitioner’s license.

Abbey Fedie, daughter of Kevin Fedie of Royal Construction.   She graduated from Mondovi High School in 2020.  Abbey plans to receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Although she does not have a specific field of nursing chosen, she wants to become a Registered Nurse.

Allison Golat-Hattamer, daughter of Ed Hattamer of Dernovsek Masonry.  Allison will receive her high school diploma from Lake Holcombe High School in May. She plans to attend CVTC participating in their sonography program.

Bailey Thompson, daughter of Linda Thompson of American Materials.  Bailey graduated from Eau Claire North High School in 2020 at the top of her class.  She is currently in first year at University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in pursuit of an undergraduate degree in biology.  Bailey will take the next few years of college to decide which of her several preferred choices she will pursue – medical school, dental school or graduate school for something else.

Mia Bakke, daughter of Neil Bakke of Monarch Paving.   Mia is a 2020 New Richmond High School graduate.  She is currently attending UW Madison majoring in Finance and minoring in History with the hopes of attending law school after attaining her undergraduate.  She hopes to become a corporate financial lawyer someday.

Congratulations to all of these students as they continue down the educational road to reach their eventual goals!
